Ootd #4: Celfie // { Face Shop Haul + P.O.V}

It's that time again, time to post my recent outfit of the day! This time, I present to you an outfit I simply call Celfie.

Awkward poses, for the win!!!
What I like about this outfit, is that it can be either worn casually or look really polished, depending on the design of overcoat or blazer that is styled with the outfit.

Let's take a closer look.

-I love this celfie tank, it's smooth and comfortable and what I like the most is that I was able to buy it when it was on sale! ٩(●˙▿˙●)۶…⋆ฺ

-I'm not a huge fan of H&M but I have to say, they have great sales! The tank top is cute, yet simple, it can match with anything, since the colour is white and basic.

-What I enjoy most about the skirt is the unique colour. I never owned any coloured skirt that was violet, so when I saw it at Forever 21, I had to get it. The skirt I picked up was small, yet I would have to say the length is pretty long, although I'm sure its due to my short height (Θ︹Θ)ს

-Another thing, is that the elastic was a bit too loose for me, However,to end on a positive note though, the material of the skirt makes it feel nice  and when you peer closer, you can see little zigzags for design.

-Also from Forever 21, was this heart necklace. The neat thing about it, it's that it can open, serving as a locket. However, the necklace can sometimes open up easily, making it an annoyance at times, and if not properly and carefully taken care of, it can dent pretty easily.

A simple difference

A variation of this outfit can be adding additional accessories such as knee high socks. For example, such as this:
Another variation for this outfit, is by also adding a cardigan sweater, with ankle boots:

Overall, this outfit is more suitable for the Fall and Spring. It can go either way of giving a casual look or appear polished and preppy.

Where can you get these items?
Blazer from: Urban Planet
Tank from: H&M
Skirt from: Forever 21
Heart Necklace from: Forever 21

 {Haul}:
 THE FACESHOP

I actually got these masks quite a while ago, most likely after spring semester, since that was probably the time my face was breaking out due to final exams.

Small haul.
The face masks that I got were:
-Aloe
-Green Tea
-Kelp
-Mung Bean

From the back of the package, all the masks are described as:
"This mask contains a serum with moisturizing and nourishing properties to leave skin soft and healthy looking."

Let's go EaT here!

I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore "foodie", but if there's one thing that I do enjoy, is that I love trying and eating at new places.

And for all your poor students in Vancouver, The Famous Warehouse, which is located downtown, is a great place to eat at, because....ALL the food they serve is only for $4.95!

While The Famous Warehouse is considered a restaurant, personally for me, I found it to be more pub-like than anything else.

A thing that I really liked about the place was that the water that was served to us, was in a beer bottle, I thought it was quite cute and appealing.

Longboards as wall decorations.
Overview of the wall decorations of The Famous Warehouse.
Besides the food, I thoroughly enjoyed the decorations of the place, it just gave off a cozy and relaxing vibe to me.

The Works Burger, and it's all deliciousness.
Since it was my first time there, my friend recommended me the "Works Burger", which was delicious! While the size of the plating appears small, it actually isn't and I was filled up by burger and fries, fairly quickly.

To get to a more personal note, I will be graduating from college in the next couple of days, which is exciting! To be honest, for the majority of the time I was in college, I lost interest and I really didn't have that much motivation to study, to be frank, I believe (and still slightly) that college isn't for me.

But, after being granted an associates, I feel happy and accomplished, and it has given me a new sense of renewed energy and I now have my sight on a couple of different certificates and hopefully a degree in the future!

Ootd #3: Romper Love

What's this? Another post in February?! I am seriously surprised at myself, at how much I'm dedicating my time to this blog, but then again, I have so much fun writing it . (*⌒▽⌒*)θ~♪

Anyways, hello, my favorite people, (^ _ ^)/

This post today will be dedicated to a topic I haven't done for quite some time now, my outfit of the day or the shorten term, OOTD. If there's one thing you need to know about me, is that I love taking pictures of my outfits. If I'm hanging out with friends, I will make sure they will take a picture of my outfit before the hangout has ended or if I'm by myself, I will try to find a nice, long mirror, preferably, a changing room from a store.

And recently, after scrolling through my instagram account, I came to a realization, that I like skirts and dresses a lot, so, I decided to change it up (is it sad to say that this is my first romper, ever?), and show you guys what I had worn a few days ago, hopefully, it's a bit different from what I usually wear and my usual style.

Black, white & gray, so colourful, eh?

Where did I get the items?
Romper, ring & socks: Forever 21
Booties: Urban Planet
Purse: Coach

When I first spotted this romper, it was in a section, which also happened to be my favourite section, at Forever 21 called "Girly Girl" (it was selling during the time I was still working), I knew I wanted it, before it sold out. It's cute and super girly, but the main reason why it appealed to me, was because it had a sense of Japanese fashion to it, (in my opinion) which I loved.

A better frontal view.
The thing that I really liked from the romper piece was the simple fact that I could tie a bow to it. It made the piece really cute and adorable, and as I said previously, it's what made the romper have a Japanese style to it. Although, I wish it did come in different colours, perhaps a light pink? But that's just wishful thinking.

Up close and detailed.
As you can see more clearly in this picture, the thing that bother me about the romper was that it has too many buttons, which is kind of annoying and a hassle, since they're really tiny too! So if you have long nails, it would take you a while to unbutton and button it.

❤ Here are just additional shots for my accessories:

Using my trusty Coach purse.
The socks are very comfortable.. The boots? Not so much.

{Bonus Shots}

I tried taking a picture of my outfit with my dog, Tobi, (he's a Lhasa Apso, in case you were wondering) but every time my sister took a picture of us, either Tobi would look away from the camera or I would look away....LOL :(

Tobi, where are you looking at???
Not my finest hour.
My favourite shot, despite both of us are not looking at the camera.

[[Music Mania]]

Interstellar - Main Theme

So I'm bias, I was watching the Oscars the other day, and I was so sure that Hans Zimmer was going to win the Oscar for "Best Original Score" for Interstellar, and when he didn't I was floored. The main theme for the movie, is such a beautiful, yet haunting piece, and I wanted to share it with you guys, if you haven't watched Interstellar, which by the way, I highly recommend you to!

The Legend of Zelda - Song of Storms

Hehe, for you gamers out there! :D So I take ballet class every week, and the last week, my instructor, who usually plays instrumental pieces for us to dance to, played the "Song of Storms", and I was like it's "Zelda!!!", but nobody understood the reference except me. (✖╭╮✖)

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness - Cecilia and the Satellite

So if you live in Vancouver, Canada, there's a radio station called 102.7 The Peak which is my favourite station, since it plays rock, folk and indie songs, and they played "Cecilia and the Satellite" one day, and I just love it. It's really catchy, so might as well share with you guys.

Well, this was a short post, considering for me. I would have written more, but I didn't take any new pictures of anything to include.

I know don't do outfit posts a lot, so I hope you enjoyed this one! I'm also looking for new songs as well to add to my playlist when I go to the gym, if you guys have any suggestions, are you able to share some of your favorite songs with me, please? :)

Ootd #2: 'Red'-dy to Say Hello and Goodbye {Food Snaps, Thoughts + More}

It's been quite a while, since I last posted an outfit of the day, which is weird considering that I love taking pictures of my outfits and its something that I do constantly. However, my house has really no nice backgrounds to take pictures, which makes it difficult since I'm extremely picky.

So the majority of my outfits taken at home, will have a door in the background, because honestly outside or inside my room is sadly, one of the best backgrounds in my house. ;A;

The outfit that I  styled is what I creatively (HAHAHA) called, "'Red-'dy to Say Hello and Goodbye." And this is only because the tank top I'm wearing has the french words for 'hello' (bonjour) and 'good-bye' (tristesse). Plus the fact that the colour red is the primary scheme of colour that is in focus.

The outfit:

Hat from: Forever 21
Cardigan from: American Eagle
Tank top from: H&M
Skirt from: Brandy Melville

Taking a closer look:

I'm the not a hat person, at all. But when I saw this one, I knew I wanted to buy it. There was also the factor that it was on a promotional sale, so it was a good deal. I would have preferred a black coloured one, however, by the time I decided to buy it, they were all sold out, so I had to settle for wine-red coloured one instead. The thing about it, is that I love the floppiness. It makes any of the outfits styled with it, cute and quirky, especially (in my opinion) when girls curl their hair.

The length and colour of the cardigan is what drew me in and ultimately led me to buy it. As you know, I'm not a tall person, ._., my height is exactly 5'0", and usually the problem for me when searching for cardigans is that they lend to be long and go right past my knees, x_x. However, this one, stops right above the knees, which I love about it. The beige colour makes it also easier to match with other clothing as well.

The one thing that I didn't appreciate about the item was the price, which I believe was around $35, which is insane, considering that you can find similar ones that are cheaper, in H&M or Forever 21. All in all, in a positive light, I got 15% off since American Eagle's card allows me to, as it is my birthday month.

I`ll be the first to say and admit H&M is not one of my favourite stores, I can hardly find anything that I like when I browse around. That being said, their store is probably one of the best when it comes to their sale items. The Bonjour|Tristesse tank was originally sold for $14, but I got it for $5, talk about a good deal! The tank top itself is very comfortable and soft, and the fact that it has a heart image on it, makes it cutesy, which I love.

It may not look like it, but, the red skirt is actually made entirely from velvet, which I appreciate since it`s soothing and super soft. I bought it at Vancouver`s only Brandy Melville at Granville, and I have to say, I was very excited since it was my first official purchase from the store (....I'm such a dork :p). The store also carried a black version of it, though, I thought the red one looked classier and more feminine. The one thing that I don't enjoy about the skirt is, it`s really, really thin.

{Thoughts

This is going to be a quick ramble, you could say. Lately, I've been thinking of what I wanted to do in life and what my career would be, and as of now, the field that I'm currently studying for, is something that I`m not enjoying. I thought I did, until I realize I only enjoyed learning different aspects of it, but other than that, I don't enjoy it as a whole

Just recently I attended an info session about hair design and skin and makeup at VCC, a field that always piqued my interest. The info session was enjoyable, however, I had to say, before going into it, I was more excited about the field, but when the session was over, I wasn't as excited, which surprised me.

I`m at the point in life that I want to study and learn something that I will enjoy and eventually make a career out of.

Seriously, deciding what my career path and to be more talkative during large group hangouts should be my upcoming New Years Resolution :/

I found this quote, and I think it applies to me:

"Just because you took longer than others, doesn't mean you failed."

||Food Snaps||

I like to take pictures of my food. So enjoy (or not)!

Breakfast special at Kyle's.
Niku Udon from Sekai!!!

Coffebar's matcha latte.

Assorted sushi from Cho Sun.
Korean BBQ!

{[Music Mania]}

Do you ever get bored of the music you play constantly?
If you are, I have a few artists and songs I would like to recommend, so hopefully, if you like the songs that I'm putting up, then thats great!

WALK THE MOON - Anna Sun
(an oldie, but a goodie!)

Scavenger Hunt - Dreamers
(heard this on a virgin mobile commercial, and I literally had to memorize the lyrics to find it.)

Jason Zerbin - In Your Arms
(Another oldie song. I love supporting Canadian artists, who should be more well known.)

DJ Okawari - Luv Letter
(Completely instrumental, but very beautiful.)

Well, thats it for this post, I'm hoping to blog more, but it will be a few days when I update, since I'm going to Whistler!!! Knowing me, I'm going to take a lot of pictures when I get there!

Thanks for reading,

Ootd #1: Zig Zag Chic

Hey guys!

If there's one thing to know about me, is that I love posting my outfits of the day, as I find it fun to do. Haha, it's something that I do on a regular basis, especially if I'm out shopping,  at school or at work.

If you want to see more of my previous outfits of the day, besides the ones I will be posting on the blog, check out my instagram!

(Shameless plug in, I know! :D)

And now that I have a camera that takes high quality pictures and a tripod, I can actually take a full body length picture without relying on the changing room mirrors or any body length mirrors I see and run to.

>_<

Today, I present you to a cool outfit that mixes bright colours and intricate patterns together, and that I called "Zig Zag Chic."

(Cause, you know, modeling in your own room, is cool. :P)

Ideally, this outfit is perfect for the hot weather, i.e. Summer, but if you throw on a dark pair of cute knee high socks with ankle boots and a thin, sweater, it can be worn in the Fall or in the Spring.

Normally, this type of outfit is not my cup of tea, especially the shorts. When I first picked it up, I was 'iffy' about it, because I don't usually wear shorts that have such detailed patterns and a mixture of colours. My fashion style is more of a casual, but cutesy look. So when I tried the shorts on, I was surprised how much I liked it.

I matched the shorts with the hot pink tank because it added another layer of a bright colour to make the outfit pop even more. However, the golden triangular necklace (another piece that I wasn't too sure about, but end up loving) seals the outfit, as the touch of gold substance and odd shape make it not too casual and more to the chic side.

NOTE:  All the items that you're seeing, I bought with my own money.

Let's take a closer look.

The shirt is much brighter than it is depicted in the picture. It's a very bright hot pink. What I love about the tank top is the cool chevron design or zigzag patterns on it. The downside to the shirt is that it's somewhat transparent, so you have to wear something under it. As well, it looks much better tucked in, than left out on its own.

Not only are these shorts comfortable, but the patterns are very unique. The mixture of colours makes it pop out. Any shirt that is paired with these shorts, will be overshadowed, as the patterns of the shorts are very eye catching.

I love this necklace and apparently my sister does too, since it reminds her of the triforce from the Legend of Zelda, hahaha. The only downside to this necklace is the length, it`s a bit too short for my liking.

(***Note: the picture of the mini purse from Guess is missing. T_T I misplaced it in my room somewhere, after I took the ootd picture.)

Tank top from: Forever 21
Necklace from: Forever 21
Shorts from: H&M
Purse from: Guess

This was a fun post to write, :) I love writing about my outfits of the day, so don`t be too surprised if there`s more posts to come!
